Obituary of Norma Webber
On Friday August 28, 2020, Norma Jean (Hunter) Webber loving Mother, Nana, Sister and Wife of the late George J Webber passed peacefully surrounded by her devoted family at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Norma was 92! She was born on June 14, 1928 in Stickney, NB to George and Charlotte (Montgomery) Hunter. Norma went on to graduate from Chipman Memorial Hospital Training School for Nurses and passed her RN. She nursed at both Chipman Memorial Hospital and later Charlotte County Hospital where she was OR Supervisor for a number of years before retiring.
Norma married the love of her life George on January 1, 1948 in St. Stephen, NB. They raised two children Peter and Nancy.
Norma was a beautiful Mother caring for all who came across her path making them part of her family. She loved her little dogs and cats, especially Sugar.
She was a very intelligent woman and capable of any task set before her. Norma had a love of cooking, knitting, quilting, painting and crafts. Any new craft was exciting to her.
Norma was predeceased by her parents, husband George and son Peter, brothers Gerald and William. She is survived by her daughter Nancy (Gary) Holmes, daughter in law Barbara Webber, grandchildren Lori (Terry) Nadeau, Garth (Lee) Holmes, Amanda (Cameron) Procee and Stephen (Willow) Holmes. Great grandchildren Nicole (Graeme) Anderson, Olivia, Eva, Ivanka, Ellie and Arthur. Great Great grandchildren Cameron, Lachlan and Madelyn. Brothers Harry (Betty) Hunter, Averil (Elaine) Hunter, several nieces and nephews.
Norma loved her savior Jesus and was a member of the Christ Church Parish Church in St. Stephen until she moved to Saint John then the Church of the Good Shepherd. She also enjoyed Bible studies. She was a member of ACW and Quilting Guild. She was a member of C.M.H.-C.C.H. Alumnae and a lifetime member of the Milltown Legion Auxiliary.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart & Stroke or charity of choice is appreciated.
Due to circumstances as a result of the pandemic a Private family funeral service to take place on Friday, September 4th, 2020 from Humphrey’s Funeral Home Chapel. Because of attendance allowed to be unlimited at the graveside service friends are welcomed to meet the funeral home and family at the front gate of St. Stephen Rural Cemetery, for the graveside service to be held at 12:noon.
