Obituary of Gary Osgood Andrews
ANDREWS, GARY OSGOODE., a retired IT professional, died peacefully at the Shannex Neill Hall in Fredericton, NB, on June 17 at the age of 77. He is the son of the late Arthur E. and Kathleen O. (Sears) Andrews. She was best known as the owner of St. Stephen Fashion Frocks, and Archie was a decorated WWII veteran. Gary was born in St. Stephen, NB and grew up there.
After receiving degrees at both the University of New Brunswick and the University of Waterloo, Gary began to work as a Computer Analyst for the Province of New Brunswick, rising in the ranks to managerial level. He was responsible for heading off the Y2K crisis for New Brunswick. He also served on several non-profit committees. During retirement, Gary enjoyed going for long walks, playing basketball, riding his favorite horse Scooter at the stables, and watching movies from his vast collection of DVD’s.
Gary is survived by his daughter–in–law Betti Schleyer of White Plains, NY, U.S.A., and two grandchildren Beatrice Schleyer and John Diebold.
He is also survived by his ex-wife Linda Alward. He was predeceased by their son Stephen.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 12:00 PM at St. Stephen Rural Cemetery.
