Obituary of Mary C. Jones
JONES MARY C. – Unexpectedly at her residence in St. Andrews, NB on Monday October 2nd, 2023; Mary Clare Jones of St. Andrews, NB. Born In Halifax, NS; daughter of the late George & Rita Margaret (Denine) Jones.
Mary served for 25 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, and with the Canadian Air Force. She served in many different countries around the globe with the UN Peacekeeping Forces, especially in the middle east.
Mary retired to St. Andrews, NB, in 1995 where she became very involved with her community, such as the community food bank initiatives, , Learning Disabilities Association of NB, the Quoddy Loopers Rug Hooking Guild and was an active member of St. Andrews Catholic Church. Mary loved to rug hook and knit.” Mary also worked for Kingsbrae Gardens & Kira from 2001 – 2019.Mary is survived by her sister Barbara Carson (Paul) of Riverview, NB, 2 brothers Michael Jones (Dan) of Boundary Creek, NB and John Jones (Donna) of Port Alberni, BC , nieces Rita Vienneau (Sebastien),Memramcook, NB, Monique Attal (Alon), Naperville, Illinois, US, Jocelyn Carson (Mathieu) Quispamsis, NB and Natasha LeBlanc (Shaun), Riverview, NB, along with several great nieces and great nephews.
By Mary’s request cremation will take place, followed by a Celebration of Life and interment at the grave site, St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery, St. Andrews, NB, Wednesday, October 11 at 2:00 PM. This will be followed by a reception at the Wesley United Church, 77 William St, St. Andrews, NB.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the community food bank, or to the Learning Disabilities Association of NB would be appreciated by the family.
