With heavy hearts the family of Margaret Mary McGarrity announces her passing at Rocmaura Nursing Home in Saint John on Monday January 24, 2022.  Born in St. Stephen NB on October 10, 1933 she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Genevieve McGarrity. Marg was the last surviving member of her family, survived by many nieces and nephews.

Marg was a graduate of the St. Joseph School of Nursing class of 55; she went on to nurse in the Saint John and Saint Stephen areas. She was a lover of her profession showing love, kindness and compassion.

Marg suffered a massive stroke in May of 2018, special thanks to restorative care at St. Joseph’s and Rocmaura for the care and attention in her stay. Marg’s care giver Susan Smith went above and beyond to help her to the very end. Marg and her Nephew Dan Brenan could never say thank you enough  for all that you did.

Cremation has taken place, due to Covid restrictions no visitation or service will be held at this time, a graveside service at St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery will be announced at a later date. In lieu of donations, Marg would like you to perform an act of Kindness in her memory.
