To Marg's loved ones...My encounters with Marg were primarily thru church. She was a very devoted lady who loved the Lord. Marg was always spot on with her observations and I valued her opinion. She had the gift of actually being able to see the forest thru the trees and cut right to the chase. An enviable gift indeed. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. RIP dear Marg. You will be missed by many.

I was a graduate of St. Joseph's Hospital 1961and had the pleasure of meeting your aunt Marg when I rotated to her floor. She was a very outgoing person and strong in her convictions. What I appreciated the most about her character was that she treated everyone with equal respect. It didn't matter to her whether a person was on cleaning detail or delivering trays or involved directly in the care of patients. Marg knew everyone's name, was always cheerful but wanted things done correctly. She had a boundless energy and her confidence drew everyone to her, including all the professional staff that frequented the floor. As students, we looked up to her knowledge and her humanity. Rest in peace Margaret McGarrity.

Our thoughts and prayers are going out to the family .Marg was Director of Nursing at CCH during a period of time when I worked there. She was a wonderful nurse always willing to help and always had a kind word to say to the patients and staff. RIP

My condolences to Marg's family on her passing. Like hundreds of others, I, too, went thru the halls of St. Joseph's... being the first "probie" class of the "new hospital"!!! By the time all the beds were made we were experts! As others had written we were all so fond of Marg. She earned the respect of all who met her... the doctors, staff and patients and their families. A person we all strived to copy! I was lucky to have also worked on 6th floor with Marg and Sr. Lois. God Bless you, Marg and Peace Be With You!

Please accept my deepest condolences on the death of your dear Aunt. Marg and I were both graduates of St. Joseph's School of Nursing just a year apart. For many years we nursed together and became great friends. I loved Marg's great sense of humour and out going spirit! She was a superb person, friend but above all, an exceptional nurse. Dan:
Very sorry to see that Marg's 'Life Story' has reached it's end. She had a long life, and touched many other people's lives, with her own, through her many years of Nursing. These last few years have been very difficult for her...as well as being the last surviving member of her family...but they are now all reunited, once again. Thinking of you, as you deal with the loss of her long-time presence in your own life. Take good care...
