Obituary of Irma Irene Thompson
The death of Irma Irene Thompson, 78, of St. Andrews, New Brunswick, widow of the late Robert Thompson, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2004 at the Charlotte County Hospital. Irma was a life-long resident of St. Andrews. She was the daughter of the late Everett and Florence (Irwin) Sampson. Irma was formerly employed at the Bank of Nova Scotia and the St. Andrews Biological Station. She was a member of the Greenock Presbyterian Church and was actively involved with the church guild. She will be remembered for her bubbly personality, dignity and her eagerness to lend a helping hand. Survived by sister, Cariene Billie Burnett of St. Andrews, NB; brothers, Eddie (Joyce) Sampson of Arnprior, Ont. and Arnold (Nadine) Sampson of Bayside, NB; sister-in-law, Joyce Rigby of Edmonton, Ab; brother-in-law, Russell Thompson of Ottawa, Ont.; several nieces and nephews. Resting at MacDonald Select Community Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, with visiting on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The funeral will be held 2 pm on Wednesday from MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Neil Sampson officiating. Interment will take place in the St. Andrews Rural Cemetery. A reception will be hosted by the Presbyterian Church Guild at the Greenock Presbyterian Church Hall in St. Andrews. In Irma's memory donations to the Greenock Presbyterian Church, or to a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated.
