Obituary of Roland Edward Newman

Peacefully, at the Saint John Regional Hospital on January 10th 2003 with his loving family by his side, Roland Edward Newman. Born on Campobello Island May 24, 1918, he was a son of the late Roland and Maggie (Tinker) Newman. Predeceased by three brothers and four sisters. Survived by his wife, Arminta (Cook) Newman of St. Andrews, formerly of Campobello; two daughters, Suzanne (Gordie) Eldridge of Beaver Harbour NB; Anita (Michael) Cline of St. Andrews NB; two sons, Greg (Noella) Newman of Saint John NB; Brent (Opal) Newman of Quispamsis NB; brother, William (Pansy) Newman of Campobello NB; eight grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Visitation was held at Wilson's Beach Baptist Church on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral will be held at 2 pm on Monday from the Church with Rev. Buck Booker and Rev. Jerry VanderVeen officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at Head Harbour Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
