Obituary of Donald Sawyer

Sawyer, Donald Raymond - The death of Donald Raymond Sawyer of St. Stephen, NB, occurred on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing, Saint John, NB where he had been a resident for the past year. Born in St. Stephen on June 25, 1922 he was a son of the late Raymond and Grace(Shaw)Sawyer. He was the owner and proprietor of his own business, Sawyers Garage, until his retirement in 1980. Don was a veteran of WWII serving in the Canadian Armed Forces. Survived by a son, Robert (Yvette) of St. Stephen; a daughter, Susan Moore of Vancouver, BC; three grandchildren, Jonathan Moore, Allyson and Christian Sawyer several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; 3 sisters, Isabel Scott, Jean Urqhart, and Dorothy Jean Sawyer and two brothers, Bryce and Walter. Arrangements are under the care of Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks St., St. Stephen, NB (506) 466-3110) from where the service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, September 10th, 2011 at 2:00 pm. The interment will take place in Oak Bay Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday evening from 7 - 9 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the RCL St Croix Branch # 9 St Stephen or charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
