Obituary of Lois Miriam Simpson
SIMPSON, LOIS M. … at her residence on Wednesday, January 5th, 2011; Lois Miriam (Hood) Simpson of the St Stephen Seniors Complex, Old Ridge, NB, Born in Magaguadavic, NB she is the daughter of the late Albert & Alice (Hamilton) Hood. Lois grew up in Magaguadavic and after marrying Eugene she resided in Waweig for seventy years. She was a registered nursing assistant and worked at Passamaquoddy Lodge, Harvey Hospital and the Charlotte County Hospital. Her interests included quilting, knitting and she was a fine gardener and a great scrabble player. She loved her family and spent as much time as she could with them as a stay at home Mom and spoke often of her wonderful childhood in Magaguadavic overlooking the lake. She will be missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her 3 daughters Karen Biesenthal (Ken) of Beechy, Saskatchewan, Diane Ganong (David) of St Stephen, NB, and June Hamel (Bob) of St Stephen, NB, one son Terrance Simpson of Moncton, NB, 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 4 sisters, Marjorie Bell of Tweedside, NB, Dorothy Little of Fredericton, NB, Berniece Fletcher of Magaguadavic, NB, and Barbara Embleton of Harvey, NB, brothers in law Joseph Fletcher, and Cecil Nason and sisters in law Mary Hood and Roxie Hood. Lois was predeceased by her husband Eugene Vincent Simpson in 1994, 2 brothers Allan and Gordon, and 2 brothers at birth, Albert and Roland, 5 sisters, Ethel, Joyce, Madeline, Isabel and Carol. A memorial service in celebration of Lois’ life will be held at Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St Stephen, NB (506 … 466 … 3110) on Monday,January,10th, 2011 at 11:00 am. A reception will immediately follow the service in the Humphreys Community Room and Reception Centre, followed by the interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, Harvey, NB. The family will receive friends at the funeral home during a time of visitation on Sunday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. For those who wish donations may be made to the IWK Foundation,Passamaquoddy Lodge, St Andrews, NB, or the NB Extra Mural Program (St Stephen Unit).
