Obituary of Ida May Martin
MARTIN, IDA MAY - At the Charlotte County Hospital on Tuesday,December 14th,2010; Ida May Martin. She was the daughter of the late Alfred Saulnier and Agnes Saulnier “Dugie”. Twin girls Ida May and Eva Mary were born at Rumford Maine. The family moved to Canada at the age of 11 years old. Most of her years were spent in St Stephen “Milltown” NB. She attended 3 years of elementary school and was barely a teenager when she started work at Milltown Textile and the Milltown Cotton Mill.She also worked a number of years in the United States and various other jobs in St Stephen. She was the wife of the late Joseph Edward Martin. They had 1 son James Edward of Grand Falls deceased. She is survived by 2 daughters Dolly Alberta of Lakeport Michigan wife of Joseph W. Nofs,and Dorothy Marie of Saint John,NB wife of Paul V. Doughty. Ida had 8 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren. She also had several nieces, nephews and cousins. Resting at Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St Stephen, NB (506 – 466 – 3110) from where the service will be held in the chapel on Friday, December, 17th, 2010 at 11:00 am. A reception will immediately follow in the Humphreys Community Room and Reception Centre. The interment will take place in the spring in St. Stephen Rural Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. On line condolences to the family may be made at www.humphreysfh.com
