Obituary of Canon Hugh Mortimer
MORTIMER HUGH A. REV. CANON - At the Passamaquoddy Lodge in St. Andrews, NB on Monday, October 4th, 2010; Rev. Canon Hugh A. Mortimer, husband of the late Dorothy. V. (LeRoy) Mortimer. Born in Montreal Quebec he is the son of the late Hugh and Almeda (Parker) (Laws) Mortimer Sr. Hugh pastored in several churches across Canada. He also went on to be a chaplain in the Canadian Armed Forces for many years. He is survived by 4 sons Hugh Mortimer Jr of Prince George, BC, Stephen (Marie) of Mohannes, NB, Peter (Maura) of Halifax, NS, and Rev’d Andrew Mortimer (Janet) of Alberton, P.E.I, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, one great grandchild due in 2 weeks, several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy, 1 brother and 1 grandson. By family request there will be no visitation however friends are welcomed to attend a memorial service to be held on Tuesday, October 12th, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Upper Mills United Church. Canon John Matheson officiating. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
