Obituary of Nathaniel James Smith
SMITH NATHANIEL J. – on Thursday, July 29th, 2010; Nathaniel James Smith of St. Andrews, NB; husband of Rosamond (Anning) Smith of St. Andrews, NB. Born in St. Andrews, he is the son of the late Leonard and Mary Louise (Hooper) Smith. Nat was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He retired from the Armed Forces in 1970 after a career in the Army and Air Force. Subsequent to that he was a Paramedic with the Trenton Ambulance Service in Trenton, Ontario for 15 years. He was a member of All Saints Anglican Church, St. Andrews, where he served on the vestry for many years. Surviving in addition to his wife Rosamond are his daughter Sharon Turner (James) of Vancouver, BC and son Donald (Mary) of Edmonton, Alberta, 5 grandchildren, Melanie, Caroline, Casey, Megan and Jase, 1 great grandson Cash Sterling Smith. He was predeceased by 2 sisters, Margaret Smith and Lenora Boulter and one brother Len Smith Jr. By Nat’s request there will be no visitation however friends are welcome to attend a service of rememberance in celebration of his life to be held on Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010 at 2:00 pm at All Saints Anglican Church, St Andrews, NB. Canon John Matheson officiating. The interment will follow in St. Andrews Rural Cemetery with a reception to follow in the church hall. Donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or Alzheimers Society would be appreciated by the family.
