Obituary of Bernard John Lukco
LUKCO, BERNARD J. - at the age of 71, of Heath, Ohio U.S.A. and Campobello, NB his summer residence in Campobello, NB Bernard John Lukco Jr, husband of Mary M. Albright; passed away unexpectedly in Campobello. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 2nd, 1938 to the late Bernard J. Lukco Sr and Julia A. (Palur) Lukco. Bernie was a parishioner of St. Timothy’s Church in Campobello and of St Edward the Confessor Parish in Granville, Ohio. He was a guidance counselor, curriculum designer and manager having worked for the U.S. Job Corps, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Defense Logistics Agency from which he retired in 1997. In his retirement , Bernie was active in a number of organizations including the National Shaving Mug Collectors Association and the Friends of the Head Harbour Lightstation as well as his parishes. Bernie is survived by his wife Mary M. Albright; daughters, Laura Lukco and Beth (John Volny) Lukco; stepsons, Michael Fletcher and Matthew Fletcher; grandchildren, Carolyn, and Grace Volny and Nicholas Fletcher; and sister, Lynn (Daniel) Darragh. Donations in Bernie’s memory may be made to the Friends of the Head Harbour Lightstation, 210 Lighthouse Rd, Wilson’s Beach, NB, E5E 1M2, Canada, or Benedcitine High School, 2900 M.L.K. Dr, Cleveland OH, 44104 Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 19th, 2009 at The Church of the Gesu, University Heights, Cleveland Ohio. Cremation to follow. Interment of ashes will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg, Ohio at a later date.
