Obituary of Clara Mae Libby

LIBBY CLARA M. - At her residence on Tuesday, September 15th, 2009; Clara Mae Libby of the Lincourt Manor, St. Stephen, NB. Born in St. Stephen, NB she is the daughter of the late Henry & Hannah (Price) Libby. Clara was a longtime member of Kirk McColl United Church and served on their UCW. She was a life member of the Olive Rebecca Lodge # 18, serving in such positions as Vice Grand, Noble Grand and District Deputy President. In Clara’s early years she worked at Ganongs and then the better part of forty years at the Garcelon Stamp Office retiring at the age of 65. She is survived by her nieces Donna (Keith ) Hunter of Fredericton, Joanne (Gerry) McFarlane of St. Albert, Alberta, Deborah (Michael) Noll of Danville, Penn, U.S.A., nephew Howard Libby of Fredericton, NB, great nieces and nephews and several cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, step mother Annie Libby, 3 brothers, Burton, Donald and Gilbert, sister in law Vivian Libby. Resting at Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB from where the visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday September 17th, 2009 at 2:00 pm from Kirk McColl United Church, St. Stephen, NB immediately followed by a reception in the church hall . The interment will take place at St. Stephen Rural Cemetery. Donations to Kirk McColl United Church, Lincourt Manor or the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
