Obituary of R.G. Bud Stuart
STUART, BUD - At the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, January 28th, 2009; Roy Graham “Bud” Stuart, husband of the late Joan Madelyn (Phillips) Stuart. Born in St. Andrews, NB he is the son of the late Andrew Wesley & Marguerite (Graham) Stuart. A graduate of UNB Fredericton he is an Alumnist from the Class of 1947. Bud worked as a Civil Engineer employed with the Department of National Defense at CFB Gagetown for 25 years. He then worked as the Executive Director with the Engineering & Technical Services Branch with the Province of NB Dept. of Municapl Affairs until his retirement. Bud was an exceptional hockey player and an avid golfer. He was a member of St. Andrews Baptist Church. He is survived by his children Andrew (Naomi) of Winterville, NC USA, Kim Joyce (Bob) of Houston Texas, Maryjane Purdue of Fredericton, NB, grandchildren Joshua & Mallory Stuart, Kasey Allen (Eric), Kelly Joyce, Caleb Joyce, Joe & Sarah Purdue, Sonja Farris , Laura Heffern (Troy) and by a very dear friend Marion Wilder. Bud was predeceased by his son George Farris , sisters Jacqueline Smith and Janet Saint, The family will receive friends at the funeral home for a time of visitation on Sunday, February 1st, 2009 from 2 – 4 pm only. The funeral service will be held on Monday, February, 2nd, 2009 at 2:00 pm from St. Andrews Baptist Church, St. Andrews, NB. A reception will immediately follow in the church hall. Interment will take place in the spring in St. Andrews Rural Cemetery. Donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
