Obituary of Jean Esther Armstrong
The death of Jean Esther Armstrong of Milltown, St. Stephen, occurred at her residence on April 7, 2005. Born in Skiff Lake, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Jane (Smith) Ingram. A residence of St. Stephen the greater part of her life she had retired from the New Brunswick Department of Social Services after many years of service. Jean had been a member of the Branch #48 Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Charlotte County Hospital Auxiliary, the Any Night Club, and the Dancing Grandmothers. Predeceased by her husband, Alex Armstrong; sisters, Helen Peebles and Kate Sprague and a brother, James Ingram. She is survived by daughter, Nancy Stobo (Wayne) of Waverley, Nova Scotia; son, Donald Armstrong (Anne St. Laurent) of St. Stephen, New Brunswick; sister, Vera O'Neill of Calais, Maine; brother, Alexander (Sandy) Ingram (Sandra) of St. Stephen, New Brunswick; grand-daughter, Ashley Stobo of Waverley, Nova Scotia; several nieces and nephews. A grave side service will be held 2 pm on Monday from the St. Stephen Rural Cemetery, with Rev. Boyce Martin officiating. For those who wish, donations to the Milltown United Church or to a charity of ones choice would be appreciated.
