Obituary of Francis William Carter Stymest
The death of Francis (Frank) William Carter Stymest of St. Andrews, New Brunswick, occurred at the Passamaquoddy Lodge Nursing Home, on December 18, 2004. Born in Hartland, NB, he was the son of the late Percy and Frances (Carter) Stymest. Frank had enlisted with the Royal Montreal Regiment, at the beginning of the Second World War and served overseas with the Canadian Army, Air Force and Navy, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant-Commander. After the war he worked at the Carleton University and the Huntsman Marine Science Center. He was an active member of All Saints Anglican Church, vestry, choir, and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #8. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor (Purcell) Stymest; daughter, Carol Ballantine of Victoria, BC; sons, Michael Stymest (Sue) of Pickering Ont.and Grand Manan and Brian Stymest (Deborah) of New Jersey; sister, Betty Boyd of Lansdowne, Ont.; brother, Edward Stymest of Ottawa, Ont.; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11 am on Tuesday at All Saints Anglican Church, St. Andrews, with Ven. J.F.N. Jones and Canon John Matheson officiating. Members of Branch #8 Royal Canadian Legion will hold a tribute to conclude the funeral service. Interment will take place in the St. John the Baptist Chapel of Ease Cemetery, Chamcook. MacDonald Select Community Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen in care of arrangements.
