Obituary of Lillian Jean Elizabeth Smith
The death of Betty Smith, widow of Dr. Morden Smith, of St. Andrews, NB occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital on December 11, 2004. Born Novenber 23, 1913 in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late William and Jean (Douglas) MacVay. Predeceased by first husband Joseph Finigan. Survived by daughter Jill (Allan) Fiander of Fredericton and St. Andrews NB; three step-sons, Dr. Leigh (Glorian) Smith of Kingston Ont; Richard (Jane) Smith of Breadalbane NB; Paul (Pat) Smith of Woodstock Ont.; sister, Barbara Stickney of St. Andrews NB; brother, William (Marie) MacVay of Palm Coast Florida; niece, Belinda (Bryan) Spires of St. Andrews NB; six grandchildren, Craig Fiander, Lucas Smith, Kyla Smith, Jennifer Smith, Martin Smith, Alison Mason; great granddaughter, Paige Mason. A private burial of ashes will be held at the St. Andrews rural cemetery, with Canon John Matheson and Ven. JFN Jones officiating. Friends are invited to attend a remembrance of Betty''s life at Kennedy House, Water St., St. Andrews on Friday, December 17, 2004 from 2 to 4pm. All are welcome. For those who wish, donations in Betty's memory may be made to All Saints Anglican Church, St. Andrews or the charity of donor''s choice.
