Bruce, Tracey, Todd, and Uncle Fred,
We are saddened to hear of Aunt Nellie's passing and send our deepest condolences. We had an opportunity to visit the farm on Burnt Hill a few years ago, and Nellie basically looked like the same vibrant person she always has been (and Fred also!). The trip brought back vivid childhood memories of running around those pastures, playing in the hay loft, and swimming in the river. I chuckled when the obituary mentioned her vegetable garden. It was indeed an epic garden, from which I can remember on a few occasions stealing a few raw carrots. I know she was also an "institution" at the bank and at the church. Even as little kids we could sense this.
We are feeling sadness for your loss, but grateful for knowing a person to have had a life so well-lived.
Love,
Chip and Ann Ross

So sorry Tracey..
Your Mom was very special lady and a real treat to deal with at the bank with such a nice smile.
Always so professional and so kind, the world would be such a better place if everybody had a little bit of your Mom in them.
My sincere condolences..so sad

I did not have the pleasure of personally knowing Nellie, but I know her by way of her son Todd. Nellie imparted love, kindness and a esprit de corps that garnered him many loyal and devout friends. I am saddened by her loss and rejoice the person she was, but for her, I have a treasured friend in my life.
My love & condolences to Todd and the Ross Family.

I have such fond memories of Nellie. I remember seeing her in church when I was a young girl at Holy Rosary always sitting in a side pew with Fred and the three children. In my young adult years I worked with Nellie at Central and Eastern Trust in the summers. Nellie was instrumental in training and coaching me during those summers. Throughout my years in the financial industry, I always told people I learned banking basics from one of the best. Not only did she teach me how to calculate interest, she taught me about customer service and how to be a good co-worker. Nellie also served the head table at my wedding at the Milltown church hall. I will always remember the twinkle in Nellie's eyes and her quiet, kind way and that soft little chuckle. Warms my heart thinking of Nellie. My condolences to you all.

As we read of Nellie’s passing and gazed at her smiling image, we recalled various times spent with her. From the professional counsel offered during RRSP season to her participation in community events such as dinners at St. Patrick’s hall, Nellie’s broad smile was there. We saw her gather flowers with our neighbour to be delivered to a shut-in or to be part of a reception. We knew her as a loving wife and proud parent. Because she leaves an indelible imprint on our memory, we find comfort and hope that you too will find the same in your faith, family, and warm memories.

We are so sad to say goodbye to Nelly. She was a welcome face at Carman's and we enjoyed her understated humor and kindness. We've been serving Nelly for many years; first on her breaks from RBC, then she became a regular with 'the after church crowd' on Sundays and every Monday with the Rotary. After her retirement we saw her smiling face more often as she loved to meet Patty each morning for coffee and chats. She also started dining in quite regularly with Fred and the boys ( and Tammy too). Things will seem different for us without Nelly's presence and we can only imagine the huge void that the Ross family is feeling. May you find peace that Nelly is with the Lord

So sorry to see this. Nellie left a lasting impact on people she came to know. She was incredibly humble and generous with her time, caring and excepting of all. I enjoyed our times working on being creative at the Milltown church, she had an unfounded artistic way about her! Our cruising the country side for that perfect Fall coloured bounty was always a joy! Fred,Bruce, Tracy and Todd please know her life was welled shared with her community!
