My condolences to Anne,Susan,Cindy and their children and grandchildren who have said goodbye to a special lady.
I spent a large part of my childhood in Kaye and Murray’s home and have many fond memories. Kaye had a warm and ready smile and so much energy that despite how busy she was with family, extended family, and a full time job, she still found time to volunteer!
I hope that your many happy memories will bring some comfort to you all during this sad time.
Anne (Wilder) Caverhill

I remember Kaye and Murray coming to Liverpool with Cindy. We were all young then. Cindy stayed at our house the laughs we had. We had a couch bed in our parlour we slept in that downstairs we laughed most of the night. Kaye and Murray allowed us to take Cindy to school. The memories will always be there. You were a lovely person Kaye. Lots of love to the family. Love Ann Richie Kelly and Peter xxx

We all looked forward to Kay and Murreys visits to the UK. They were both lovely people and will be missed by everyone.
Our sincere condolences are sent to Ann, Susan, Cindy and all their families.
We had a lovely holiday in Canada a few years ago and visited Kay and the family in St Andrews and that was the highlight of our trip.
Kay was kind, welcoming and friendly and we will miss her.

My name is Kathy Bordenski and Kaye Lord was my Aunt and my Mom's only sister. I was named after Auntie Kaye and her two daughters, Susan and Anne. My Mom left St. Andrews to take a Nursing position in Maryland but St. Andrews was always in her heart. My Parents drove from Maryland to St. Andrews every summer when school let out and we were lucky enough to stay with Auntie Kaye, Uncle Murray, Anne, Susan and Cindy and our grandmother, Hannah Allen.
We have so many memories and we loved our time in St. Andrews. It felt like our second home. Auntie Kaye was always working at the bank or volunteering for the legion but always so loving and caring to all of us. Being busy was what made Auntie Kaye happy. Auntie Kaye' always put her family first and she did so in the most gracious, kind and loving way. She showed love in the way she supported her husband, her daughters, their children, her great grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.
While Auntie Kaye was working we spent most of our time with Anne Raye, Susan McLeod and Cindy Lord going swimming, boating, having picnics, going down to the wharf and running around St. Andrews. Auntie Kaye and Uncle Murray took us in every summer, cared for us and even let us go to the grocery store on Main Street to buy food on their accounts.
Words cannot explain our sadness and loss. Even though I haven't had the opportunity to travel to St. Andrews since 2018, I forever feel close to those memories. Our future trips to St. Andrews will forever be changed with the passing of Auntie Kaye. She will never be forgotten. I pray for my cousins, Anne, Susan and Cindy and their families and wish we could be with them. I know this covid has made this time so very difficult and only some of the grandchildren were able to see Auntie Kaye but I hope they know how much they were loved and supported by her.
My brother and I and my Brother's best friend, Rankin who traveled with my Brother on their summers off in High School and College, will forever be grateful for all of the love we were shown. Our St. Andrews family are always close to us in our hearts.
Love and prayers,
Love you Auntie Kaye and will miss you,
Kathy, Rob, Emily and Alex Bordenski

My mother and Kay were sisters, It was only the two of them. They were very close. My dad took one of his two weeks of vacation to drive my mother, sister, and I up to Canada from Maryland every summer when we were kids. He used his other week of vacation to come and get us at the end of the summer. It was magical. Anne, Susan, and Cindy are like sisters to me.
I have so many memories of Auntie Kay working at the bank and going weir fishing with Uncle Murray. We loved to go to Katy's Cove and loved the St. Andrews wharf. I remember my grandfather taking me to Hat's restaurant for milkshakes and my grandmother frying up the fresh fish that Uncle Murray had caught that day. We had fun at all of the Legion events when they were in the big building on King Street.
My friend Rankin and I continued the tradition when we were in high school and college, spending the entire summer in St. Andrews. When I got married, my wife Mary and son Matt visited Canada many times. Anne and Susan said he was just like me when I was a kid, skipping rocks at the Glebe and spending the whole day down on the beach.
Auntie Kat was the rock. She looked after everyone and made the best short bread cookies! Uncle Murray made awesome fish chowder with fresh fish from Robicheau's. Of course we loved going to Walt's for his meats and Starlight Lunch for a feed of claims.
There is so much more, but space is limited here. Simply said, Kay was the best sister to my mother and best mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a wonderful wife to Murray and I know she missed him everyday after he passed in 2008. She often told me so. If the measure of one's life is how they impacted others, Auntie Kay is off the charts.
I am heart broken, not just for my self and my family but for Anne, Susan, and Cindy and their children and grandchildren. An era has come to an end. And even though Auntie Kay lived a long and happy life, selfishly, I wish it was longer, I would like to have seen her again, thank her, and tell her how much I loved her.
