Obituary of E. Irene Brown
Edith Irene (Newman) Brown “Meme”, 85, wife of beloved husband Elwin Brown, passed away suddenly at her Campobello Island family home May 20th 2012. Born Edith Irene Newman on August 1st, 1926 in Wilson’s Beach New Brunswick, she was predeceased by husband Elwin, bother Cleveland Newman, and sister, Dawn Newman. Irene was survived by sister, Margaret Rose (Allingham) Cote, two daughters: Holly (Brown) Chute and Bonnie (Brown) Guptill. Five grandchildren: Julie (Guptill) Booth, Ronnie Guptill, Jonathan Chute, Timothy Chute, Kevin Chute and eight great-grandchildren: Elena Booth, Grady Guptill, Casey Guptill, Ethan Chute, Josie Chute, Hayden Chute, Elizabeth Chute, Zachary Chute and multiple nieces and nephews. Irene selflessly devoted her life to helping others, sharing her caring and loving strength with each and every person she touched. Irene enjoyed the simple things in life: family, friends, music, dancing, her famous mats and the fresh bark of a wood pile. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Irene was beloved and will be sorely missed. Irene had a youthful spirit which she shared with all. Meme’s love and spirit will live on in of all of those she touched. In keeping with the wishes of Irene (Newman) Brown there will be no funeral services. Graveside ceremonies will be conducted at a later date this summer. If desired, donations may be made to a local charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made at www.humphreysfh.com.
