Obituary of Norma Lucy Gillis
GILLIS NORMA L. – At the Charlotte County Hospital on January 7th, 2012; Norma Lucy(MacNichol)Gillis,wife of Allison Gillis of St. Andrews, NB Born in St.Andrews, NB, February 22,1942, she is the daughter of the late Donald(Tommy)and Roberta MacNichol. After training at the Holy Rosary Commercial School in St. Stephen. Norma went to work at the former Lady Dunn Trade School, Algonquin Hotel and the St. Andrews Health Centre. Norma had a life long love of sports, playing basketball in her youth and being a true "Hockey Mom" with her son Peter, never missing a hockey game. She enjoyed all the adventures she had with her daughter Cathy. She loved her trips around the point and having "coffee breaks" there with friends and family. She is survived by her husband Allison, two children, Cathy, of St. Andrews,Peter(Monica)of Gatineau Quebec, two grandchildren,Sascha and Tennsy,two sisters and one brother,Barbara Myles of Saint John,Elaine MacNichol of St. Andrews and Allison(Janet)MacNichol of Fairvale, NB, nieces and nephews. Resting at Humphreys Funeral Home, (20 Marks Street, St Stephen, NB E3L 2B2. 506 – 466 – 3110) from where the service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday,January 11th,2012 at 1:00 pm. By Norma’s request there will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or charity of the donors’choice would be appreciated by the family.
