Obituary of Lorne E. McGarrigle
McGARRIGLE, LORNE E (Sonny) – passed away on Tuesday, October 18th, 2011; Lorne Elmer McGarrigle Jr. of St Stephen, NB; husband of Pam Kovak Lee McGarrigle. Born in Black’s Harbour, NB on October 19th, 1945, he is the son of the late Lorne McGarrigle Sr.and Donaldine Bradford. Sonny worked the last 20 years in the Halifax area, returning to St Stephen just recently to be closer to his family. Lorne also served with the Canadian Armed Forces with the Black Watch. Sonny was an avid baseball enthusiast and player for many years in the Black’s Harbour area. He also served as an umpire for many games. Lorne really enjoyed playing poker with his friends. Sonny is survived by his sons,Tracy(Jennifer),Kevin,of St Stephen, NB, stepchildren Alana Lee of Halifax, NS, Derek and David Lee, both of Ont, grandchildren Alyssa, Jeffrey, Asia and Alex, great grandchild Livia, brothers Colin(Ruth), Frank (Noreen), , sisters Brenda Gaudet (Norman) Lorna Harris(Gorman),Mary Bustard,Coralee Somerville, several nieces,nephews and cousins. Resting at Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St Stephen, NB (506 – 466 – 3110) from where the visitation will be held on Thursday 7 – 9 pm. and on Friday from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm at the Black’s Harbour Wesleyan Church. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October, 21st at 2:00 pm at the Black’s Harbour Wesleyan Church. Pastor Jeff Hoyt officiating. The interment to follow in the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. A reception will be held in the church hall immediately following the burial. Donations to the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
