Obituary of Pat Burnett
BURNETT PAT – In the palliative care unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, April 11th, 2020; Patricia (Kiervin) Burnett, wife of the late Robert “Bunker Bob” Burnett went to heaven to be reunited with her soulmate, whom she has missed immensely for the last 18 years. She was lovingly surrounded by her daughter, granddaughter via FaceTime and family friend Father Aaron Knox. Due to the current circumstances, candles were lit for her by her loving family members from each of their homes. The family would like to sincerely thank the palliative care nurses for their exceptional care during Pats final hours. Born in Saint John N.B. she was the daughter of the late Raymond & Patricia (Darrah) Kiervin. As a child, Pat loved spending many summers at Treadwell Lake with her aunt, uncle and cousins. She spent 30 amazing years with the love of her life Bob. They had a love like no other, traveled on many adventures and were always by each other's side. Becoming a mom and grandma was Pats greatest joy. She was best friends with her loving daughter and very close to both of her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. In later years, Pat became a volunteer with her close friend Tina at the Loch Lomond Villa. She worked with Tina at NODA (nobody dies alone), sitting with patients during their final hours who had no family. She loved the Lord and this was her ministry. During the last year of her life, she waged a courageous battle against advanced liver disease. She remained optimistic and resilient through the pain and always had a smile on her face. She always had a positive attitude for the many people who took the time to come and visit with her. Her lasting words will always be remembered.... “Make sure they all know how loved they made me feel”. Pat is survived by her daughter Kimberly Scott (Wayne) of Rothesay, NB, granddaughter Abigail Clarke (Nick) of Halifax, NS, grandson Jordan Robert Scott, siblings Helen Walsh Truro N.S., Jim Kiervin (Sherry) Quispamsis, Peter Kiervin (Cathy) Grand Lake, Maureen Kiervin (Clarence) Moncton, Kevin Kiervin (Janet) Coles Island, Godmother Doreen (Kiervin) McCarthy Rothesay, Goddaughter Darrah Sawyer(Tom) Grand bay-Westfield, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Due to the current situation with the COVID - 19 Pandemic, a public service is not permitted and a private Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Waterloo Street, Saint John, NB.
