Obituary of Graham L. Bartlett
It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic death of Graham Lawrence Bartlett of Chamcook, NB, on December 22, 2018. Graham is mourned by his wife, Andrea (King), four-year old daughter, Nora, parents, Hugh and Karen Bartlett, also of Chamcook, sister, Tiffany, of Truro, N.S., mother and father-in-law, Gary and Kim King of Miramichi, and sister-in-law Emily King of Moncton. Many aunts, uncles and cousins also fondly remember Graham’s gentleness, warmth and intelligence. Born on July 1, 1987, Graham was a graduate of Sir James Dunn Academy where he had great friends and enjoyed the sports programs. He was a graduate of the civil engineering program at UNB, and in 2012, received his Masters Degree in Engineering. He developed expertise in hydrogeological engineering and worked for engineering firms in Fredericton and Moncton. In 2017, he moved to the job of his dreams, working as a physical scientist at the St. Andrews Biological Station. He was energized by the intellectually stimulating environment, and by working with colleagues who had a wonderful sense of camaraderie. His diverse interests included playing soccer, working in his father’s workshop, and building an extravagant playhouse for his little daughter. He had great and ever-changing plans for a new home, which he was intending to build in Saint Andrews. He was a loving husband, a delightful father who ferried Nora to swimming, gymnastics and soccer. He was also an attentive son to Hugh and Karen. There will be no visitation, but the celebration of Graham’s life will be held at Wesley United Church on Friday, December 28, at 2:00p.m. A reception will be held at the Anglican Parish Hall on King Street in Saint Andrews. In lieu of flowers and to respect Graham’s commitment to education, an educational fund for Nora is being set up at the Bank of Nova Scotia (204 Water St. St. Andrews, NB, E5B 1B4, 1 … 506 … 529 … 1140) by colleagues, friends and family. Donations can be made directly at the bank or to the funeral home c/o the Living Memorial Nora Trust Program. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care & direction of Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB E3L 2B2 (506 … 466 … 3110).
