Obituary of Marie Archer
ARCHER MARIE – Peacefully at Lincourt Manor, in St. Stephen, NB; with her family by her side; Velma Marie (Cleghorn) (Estey) Archer, wife of the late Doug Wayne Archer. Born in St. Stephen NB, she is the daughter of the late Ronald & Ida Estey
Marie worked as a chef for Lincourt Manor Nursing Home for 37 years.
Marie was not just a loving mother and wife, Marie was also very active in her community; whether it was rounds on the golf course, walks with friends; she also helped out with meals on wheels .
In the past Marie could always be found front and center at any Diablos dance in support of her husband. She was also a fantastic cook. She loved her friends , her children and grandchildren fiercely
Marie also loved to travel to South Carolina with her husband to enjoy the beach, the courses and each other.
Marie is survived by her adoring sons William Kenneth Cleghorn (Amanda), Mike Archer (Jennifer), loving daughters Julie LeBlanc (Justin), Heather Archer (Luke), grandchildren Bayleigh, Jade, Taylor, Connor, Ella, Charleigh, great grandchild baby Reid, siblings, Yvonne (Donnie), Pauline(Doug), Bruce (Angie), Patty, Robert (Heather), Steve (Edna), many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Marie is predeceased by her loving husband Doug Archer, brother Charlie and her parents Ronald & Ida Estey.
The family would like to express their sincere thank you and appreciation to the staff at both the St. Stephen Seniors Complex and Lincourt Manor for the wonderful care they gave to Marie while in their care.
The family will receive friends during a time of visitation and celebration of her life on Wednesday from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB E3L 2B2 (506 – 466 – 3110)
Cremation will take place. A graveside service will happen in July of 2025 at the Calais Cemetery where Marie will be laid to rest with her husband Doug.
