Our condolences to Carmen and family on the loss of Peter. I remember him during my time serving in Whitehorse as a larger than life Mountie. He was quite a character. I recall one evening when we were called to a bar to break up a brawl. One of the offenders decided rather than being arrested, he challenged Peter to a boxing match. Peter took him on and the arrest was a success. There was news reporter in the bar at the time and the next day the boxing match was covered blow by blow in the Whitehorse Star. Sounds like he had a varied and interesting career serving his country, family and community. Judi and I regret your loss and our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Mike and Judi Connolly

Dear Roberts Family,
I am very sorry to hear of Pete’s death. He and I were in the same Troop in Regina in 1964. I have only fond memories of Pete including his visit to see Blaine Price, Gerry Clarke and me in Sussex, NB many years ago. I sent Pete’s obituary to all our Troopmates living across Canada, and they have expressed their sadness.
I hope Pete did not express any pain while he was sick. Over the years, I often thought of him and our year together in Regina in 1964.
I send you my love.
Pete RIP
Yours truly,
Joe Healy

My thoughts, and prayers to you Carmen, Tim, and Dan. We have been looking for this obituary and it was beautifully written. I have so many fond memories, spending time around the Roberts household as I grew up. Peter the "Gentle Giant" as you wrote loved any opportunity to chat and connect. He would talk of adventures traveling across the country in his camper, stories of being in the RCMP, how much he loved Wendel Clark (ok maybe that was me).
I can remember Peter telling me he had something that would really bring out the shine of my Mustang. He then provided a jug of rubbing compound, handed it to Tim and I and said good luck. Hours of scrubbing later Peter was proven to be correct, as it had never sparkled so pristine, and this is a memory I have never forgotten.
Carmen Tim and Dan, we are thinking of you all in this time, and if there is anything we can do, please do not hesitate.
My condolences.

Thanks for this, Trent! You knew him well, as well as how much he stressed the importance of "common sense"... I like that you used this version of a Mustang story with Dad - keep it family friendly for the kids. He (and mum) really really liked you so much and every visit home they still bring up how happy they were that things turned out so wonderfully for you, Tralauna and the kids. We appreciate you taking the time for such a nice message.
