Obituary of Belva Lurline Abigail Brown
Belva Lurline Abigail Brown, was surrounded by her children and niece as she went to her heavenly home on September 19, 2024.
Belva was born in Seal Cove, Grand Manan, NB on November 26, 1928 to Maggie & Rue Ingalls. She gave her heart to Jesus at the age of 5, following and serving him faithfully for the remaining 90 years of her life.
Belva was Mom to Tim Brown (Gail), Pat Brown, GinnieBenson (Pete) & Jayne Turner (John). Alongside her husband, Bev, she raised her children with faith, love, and devotion in their family home.
Belva was valedictorian of her High School graduating class. She then went on to attend Bethany Bible College in Yarmouth, NS and Woodstock, NB followed by a semester at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA. Most of Belva's time was spent raising her family, but she did spend a year teaching school. She was also devoted to her church, Seal Cove Wesleyan, where she served in many areas, most notably as the church organist, pianist and choir director. Everyone from pastors, to sports teams to biker gangs were invited to enjoy Belva's hospitality. There was always enough for everybody. For years she delivered Meals on Wheels to a lot of people much younger than she was. She could always be counted on to cook for someone, provide a kind word, or a phone call at just the right time. She was the ultimate friend. At the age of 94 Belva decided to take up water color painting as a hobby and painted some impressive pictures while she was at the Grand Manan Nursing Home. Belva's faith was the cornerstone of her life and she leaves a rich legacy.
She is survived by her Children: Tim, Pat, Ginnie & Jayne, Grandchildren: Ginger Pilarski (Jake), Amanda Loosier(Steven), Daniel Benson (Mandy), Nicholas Brown (Julie), and Natasha Brown and Great Grandchildren: Joshua Pilarski, Jonathan Pilarski, Hunter Pilarski, Kayleigh Benson, Connor Benson, Imogen Benson, Camryn Loosier, Sophia Loosier, Beckham Brown and Melodie Brown.
Belva was predeceased by her husband, Bev, who was the only man she ever set her heart on. They were married for 64 years.
For 2 years Belva enjoyed the company and care she received at the Grand Manan Nursing Home where her humour and friendship were enjoyed by residents and staff alike. The family wish to express their heartfelt appreciation for the comfort and love shown to her.
