I am deeply saddened to hear of Bertha's passing. It is very strange to think of not seeing her around the Island. One of my fondest memories of Bertha is of the July 1st Celebration in Welshpool. She was always a bundle of positive energy. I offer my heartfelt sympathies, hugs, prayers, and positive thoughts to her family and friends.

Stephanie, Brent and family, I was so saddened to hear this news - Bertha was one of my alltime favourite people - loved her sense of humour and have fond memories of Bertha and John and their kindness to Brenda and me when we lived in Campobello all those years ago. I will always smile when I think of Bertha - we shared a lot of laughs in my CICS days.
Hugs to all - take care.

So sorry to hear of Bertha’s passing. She was such a great lady and in summer’s when I drove by her place to go to my moms she could be seen on her swing. Will miss her visits at my mom’s house when I was visiting. My thoughts are with her family.

I am so heartbroken to hear of berthas passing. She was one of my favorite girls, always positive, always ready with a story or a funny comment. She was one of those women who remained ageless in mind and spirit. I’ll especially miss her at all our music gatherings, down in front making goo gully eyes at me. She will be remembered long after most of us are no longer here to remember her. What a wonderful person. Love you Bertha

It was such a joy getting to know Bertha. It was through her special friendship with Barbie (Zucchi) that I came to really appreciate her. And she reminded me that 40+ years ago she met my son and daughter at her swimming pool when all the neighborhood kids would gather there to cool off for a summer swim.
I shall always think of her as the grand lady of Welshpool. She was a real treasure and I am so grateful I had the opportunity to spend some time with her. Her warm smile, joyful laugh, and her open arms are already missed.
My sincerest condolences to her family, especially to Stephanie, and to all of her many, many friends.

My condolences to all Bertha’s family ; especially Stephanie, Brent, Jenna and Cody. She will be missed by so many a definite pillar of the community.
I can still hear her tormenting Peter and John when they would be in their break room , the boiler room. Bertha had an excellent sense of humour and was always up for taking part on pulling a prank on those two.
Her love for others, friendliness , hospitality and sense of community will certainly be missed . Heaven has gained another angel. Rest in peace Bertha.

My sincere Sympathy to Stephanie, Brent, Jenna, Cody & all the family members of the late Bertha Newman. She was a true friend & travelling companion, during my yearly summer vacations on Campobello. Attending as many Musical Venues as possible, during Fogfest, was a great highlight. We didn’t miss much! Wonderful memories of such fun. Her generosity in support of local events & community projects was one of her beautiful traits; always lending a helping hand.

I met Bertha during the summer of 2019. My wife Diane and I spent a month and a 1/2 at a VRBO around the corner from Bertha’s place and became very familiar with her swinging chair with a view of the sunset. Bertha was a sweet gal and we became good friends during our time on the island. She told us many stories and shared her peanut butter fudge with us, she will be missed.
