I was very sad to recently hear of Reed’s passing. He was a wonderful part of our community. Glad to be a part of the theatrical community with him, and had many rides and great conversations over the last few years that I was blessed to know him. Rodney R. Munn

Reed I think of you as the little cousin with the red hair who wouldn’t hurt a bug !! And the older cousins here in New Jersey would tease you ! You took it well and would just say don’t step that bug ! But flies were ok as I remember Doug getting you the big rubber bands !! Love Linda McFarlane Knierim

So sorry for your loss, hoping that the good memories get you all through the tough times. My memory of Reed, is him coming into the office, that I work at with Emily, and he said it was too quiet, he said he didn't understand how it could be so quiet because the Haley's were a loud bunch
RIP

My condolences to Reed’s family. I got to know him through our involvement with the St. Croix Theatre Co. He was fun to work with. Enjoyed having the odd glass of beer in his penthouse flat as well. I’m glad to hear that his beloved dog has a new home as well.

So sorry to hear this We shared many trips to hockey games and many coaching baseball as well. Some great memories in those years. Reed was a great coach and the kids always respected him as there wasn’t much he didn’t know about baseball . He had such a great way with children. It seemed anywhere we’re out in public kids were running up to say hello and wanting to chat with him. I admired that quality in him . He will be missed .

For Herb and Reed there were sixty years of memories, sweet times, good humour, patience, and some sadness too. Of those years, I was blessed to share over forty with them. Our friendship was greater than times spent on the tennis courts, and yet that is how most remember us (Roadrunners Tennis). We never know exactly where the road will lead but what we do know is that our journey has been all the better for having been able to share these years with Reed. Reed and I loved all things Red Sox while Herb often cheered for Toronto with his dad. We enjoyed watching movies, playing scrabble or various Trivia games after having a home cooked meal together. With much sympathy - Lynda and Herb

I met Reed on two occasions last August when we played doubles and singles at the Saint Andrews Masters Tennis Tournament. He won both matches and went on to win the singles title. Reed was a terrific tennis player and a pleasure to play tennis with. I will miss him, as will so many others.
Kind regards to all of Reed's family and please accept my sincere condolences.

When I was in Cubs at Oak Bay in the early 1980s Reed was one of our drivers that took us on a tour of Huntsman Marine Science Center. Aka. The Aquarium in St Andrews.
He talked to us guys in his Jeep Cherokee like we were adults and I never forgot that. I still remember this 40 years later and it’s something I do today when talking to young people.

We have so many wonderful memories of times spent with Reed...visiting him at the cottage on Pleasant Lake, attending community Theater productions, and of course rallying on the courts. Sometimes we’d share a meal and watch a movie. There was a special bond we three had as Roadrunners Tennis that can not be replicated. As a true Friend, colleague, and devoted member of the Milltown community, your dad will be missed. Emily and Nathaniel, May your good memories, family, and friends help you in the days and weeks ahead.

I've known Reed many years now, since the late 60's when he and all the "bandits" from Milltown came down to SSHS and I came over from the old Catholic school of Holy Rosary, and we've been friends ever since.........we became the closest of friends however once we started our years at STU living in Holy Cross House.......Reed, Jack McLaughlin, John Healy and I became almost inseparable, our only enmity existed in the STU parking lot during street hockey games as part of the infamous Holy Cross Ground Hockey League, Reed's goaltending abilities baffled my meager goal scoring touch.......it was the best of times......the friendships we formed have lasted all these years regardless of time and separation.....I knew Reed as a kind, humorous, intelligent, and loyal man who loved Emily and Nathaniel beyond measure......I will miss him and I am honoured to have known him and proud to have called him my friend......we'll have a glass of the good stuff for you my friend, RIP.....oh, and in memory of you Reed I wish I could hear "Where are my GD keys?", from you just one last time.

Condolences to Mr. Haley’s family and friends. I knew Reed from the tennis courts in St Andrews, and always appreciated his competitive nature and kindness. He did so much for the youth and undoubtedly brought many to the sport he was so passionate about.

I would like to extend my deepest and most sincere condolences to Reed's family at this very difficult time and though my acquaintanceship with Reed was of a fairly recent vintage I was struck by a particular aspect of his nature. While it is a very common thing to say of someone how freely they gave of their of time to others it was, in Reed's case, better and more accurate to speak of how much he also gave of himself. He will be missed.
