My condolences to Junior’s family, he will be greatly missed by his family and his community family as well.A quiet thoughtful man devoted to his family and an example to his community. He once had a boat named Servant and he too was a faithful servant. Thoughts and prayers for the family.

I can’t think of my time growing up in the Seal Cove Baptist church without thinking of Junior.
As the superintendent of Sunday School he was always present for Christmas concerts,Sunday School picnics,
and of course Sunday School itself. I can specifically remember him doing the candy toss for all the kids at the picnics.
We were so excited about such simple fun. His life was a wonderful testament to his Christian beliefs.
You were blessed to have him as your Dad. We all join you in mourning his loss and celebrating his life.
Sincerely,
Ruth Ingersoll

Condolences all. Your Dad had one of the best smiles on the Island. And as noted in the great obit, he was a leader in faith, work and family. May God bless you all as you celebrate this life of his, well lived.

What words can even begin to describe Junior..epic, humble..a tireless and true example of Christ. His example and legacy of service to others didn't end with his kids and grandkids, it extended to their friends and the community. The door to their home was open, you didn't need to call to visit, there was always enough Sunday dinner for anyone who showed up. He took so many to wood island services, gulls egging, wherever he could help or serve, he went, without question, without being paid, in his quiet, steady, kind way, never a complaint..and he simply got er done. His dedication to always be an example for Jesus was profound and evident to all.
Everyone has seen his kids and grandkids over the years, and their tireless dedication to the community, on the fire department, the wood island trips and always helping others.. it's remarkable and speaks volumes about Junior. I'm blessed to have always been welcome and treated the very best by Junior and Mae, I'll forever cherish every memory of my 45 years of visits, occasional Sunday dinners..and the love I felt from them every time I saw them.
As your family grieves this enormous loss..look at each other and see what we see.. Junior and who he was, can be seen in each of you, in your own special way, he is clearly evident in all of you. Until we see him again on that beautiful shore, condolences and blessings to each family member,
With sadness and love,
Lexie Wilcox

Junior was a pillar of the Seal Cove Baptist Church as was his wife, Mae. He has left a legacy of dedication to his church that will be remembered and he has already been missed. We remember the Canada Day Celebrations, with him standing by the Greasy Pole with dish soap in his hand. But mostly, I remember when I was young, seeing Junior and Mae come to church with a bunch of well behaved, smartly dressed children, leading the was for them. Sending love to all the family.

I always remembered, on Sunday’s, when it came especially in the winter time getting a ride up the hill to Church. Also seeing him making homemade ice-cream and homemade rolls. He always looked after Auntie Mae. He was a great neighbour when I was growing up and he hadn’t changed. I will also miss him too. Rest in peace Uncle Jr., and have an awesome time up in your new heavenly home.

Condolences to the family.
We have pictures of Junior and his crew harvesting a weir. It was the largest haul for that weir that year ( 1969 )…what a site!
