So sorry to hear of Rex's passing. I had Rex as one of my students and I always enjoyed his good humour and wonderful laugh...Even years after our school contact, when meeting at different times and places, Rex always had a nice word to say, I'm sure he will be sorely missed.

Theresa - you don’t know us but we were friends with Rex since we met him at Connor’s plant while working with Fisheries. He was one in a million and we were so fortunate to have met him and considered him a friend to us all. We didn’t know he was fighting a battle but we do know that they gained a wonderful angel the day he went home. He always was the same and spoke to everyone and remembered their names. I could go on and on but I see everyone else had same idea of him. Stay strong and know that he was loved by everyone. Hugs to you and take care.

Teresa, I'm very sorry to hear of Rex's passing. I met first Rex when he joined Acadian, and when he found out I was from St Stephen he immediately wanted to know who my parents were. In the years that followed he would often stop in and see them on the Valley Road to chat about things, often leaving them a nice fresh fish he had caught earlier that day. Rex and I played golf together in a number of company tournaments, and was an absolute pleasure to be around. His card tricks were legendary at Acadian gatherings, leaving many of us in disbelief. My deepest condolences to you and his family and friends.

Our sincere condolences to you Theresa and the rest of your family. Rex was a great character and person. His smile and laughter would always light up the room. As others have said, he was tremendous with his card tricks and humour. One of our more recent memories of Rex, was when he was part of the train robbery bandits on horse that held up the McAdam - St. Stephen train ride as part of a local charity fund raiser. Our thoughts are with you.

Theresa and families
Our deepest sympathies. Just so hard to believe. He was so full of life. My first job working with Fisheries and Oceans was working for Rex and Sharon Ford in Fisheries Management then later at the St. Andrews Biological Station. I would challenge him on how quickly his in box mail and files ended up in his out box until I realized he seemed to have a photographic memory. He was smart, witty, and kind to all, and had a great sense of humour. He knew how to make one laugh when they really needed it. And yes, he was definitely a card shark. He even impressed his Regional Director General. He was a great person to work with and a great friend. Just so sad he was taken too soon. So sorry Theresa for your loss.
Carla and Rod Carney.

My Mother was a long-time friend of Ruby, and I spent many days with her visiting. As I grew older, and became more acquainted with the rest of the family, I look back, and am thankful that I got to witness such wonderful people. I remember the smiles, mostly. I had wonderful conversations with Rex, whenever I’d see him, and he was always quick to inquire how the rest of my family was doing. A kind, caring, funny, considerate man, whom I know will be very greatly missed by his family.
My condolences.
Jim Arseneau.

I had the pleasure of working with Rex for many years at Acadian Seaplants. Rex would always put a smile on your face, always made time in his visits to the office to check on how you were doing. Rex was people first for sure and well respected by all of us at Acadian. Rex will be missed by us old-timers at Acadian. This is too soon for a man with so much life to share.

I'm so sorry to learn of Rex's passing. Whenever I'd run into him, I could never not say, "Hey! Rex!" and after a chat, walk away smiling. He was particularly kind and patient with me as a young newspaper reporter - and an Upper Canadian to boot - who was trying to learn about fisheries issues back in the early-mid 1990s. Please accept my sincere condolences.

I was very sorry to hear of Rex's illness, and now his passing. I first met Rex when working at the Biological Station, back in 1979. While filling in on the mail run, I would be into the Lab where he worked. His boisterous, friendly nature made those brief stops most enjoyable. Throughout the years since, whenever running into Rex....his personality never changed. He was ' larger than life' in all the right ways. My deepest sympathy, Theresa....to you and all the family, at this sad time. Take good care...

Rex Hunters life is full to the brim of caring, compassion, and an authentic presentation of his love for the community in which he made his life. While Rex’s obituary is more of a reflection on his life, his personality, his accomplishments, and his beliefs it tells us he was more than life! I am glad to have known Rex for many years and you always walked away from any conversation with more knowledge than you started with. I know his involvement with Fundy Transition house was impeccable. To Theresa and family we all feel your loss and we send condolences. Rest in peace our friend !

The famous Rex's Rule. Anyone who golfed with him knows that no matter how good or bad the game was going that day, you were the winner if you won the 18th. He loved competition and it served him well in business but with friends, he made sure everyone was a winner. He loved people and they loved him back. A very special man!
