Foster, Mary Ruth
Passed away peacefully On December 16, 2023, at the Grand Manan Hospital. Born in Grand Manan in 1944, she was the daughter of the late Gordon & Beatrice Foster.
She is survived by her brothers; Tommy Foster (Gladys), Richard Foster (Claire), daughters; Maureen Goodwin, Paula Wilson (Kevin), grandchildren; Jennifer Fudge (Ryan), Ryan Wilson (Heather), Angela Leonard (Daimon), Taneisha Goodwin (Joshua), Crystal Brown (Andrew), Dawn Brown, Daniel Brown (Emily), and great-grandkids; Deakon, Madison, Kamdin, Tyson, Jordan, Ryan, Jacelyn, Ethan, Mya, Kaden and Sawyer.
She was predeceased in addition to her parents by her son Earl Brown, Sisters Kay Devau, Jean Ingersoll, and brother Bill Foster.
Known as Nanny Mary she worked at the Grand Manan Nursing Home, but she especially shined as grandmother and great- grandmother, she was known for dropping in unexpectedly and loved to spoil her family. She will be remembered as a firecracker who always had something unexpected to say, a personality trait she kept till the very end.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Grand Manan Hospital and ANB for their tremendous above and beyond care shown towards Mary.
Cremation has taken place, the family plans to hold a celebration of life at a later date.
