Obituary of Harold F. St. Peter
ST. PETER HAROLD F. – Unexpectedly at the Charlotte County Hospital, on Monday, December 4th, 2023; Harold Frederic St. Peter; husband of Helen (Murphy) St. Peter of Chamcook, NB.
Born in Andover, NB, September 26, 1946; he is the son of the late Bernard “Birdie” & Capitolia Olga “Tolia” (Robertson) St. Peter.
Harold joined the military December 1964 and served in the November 11th Vimy Ridge Memorial. He resigned from the military with the rank of corporal in Jan 1971.
Just before departing the military, he married Helen Louise Murphy on November 14th, 1970. The wedding date and location are on file with the Danae Murray’s Family Tree at Ancestry.com (921)
After leaving the military, and from 1971 through 1974, Harold worked at construction and maintenance jobs in the Plaster Rock area. Tiring of that kind of work, in the fall of 1975 he enrolled in the St. Andrews Community College in St. Andrews, NB. Upon successful completion, he landed a job in June 1976 with J. Clark & Son Ltd (Vehicle sales & service) in St. Stephen, NB. He worked in automotive repair until 1988. Then he took a permanent position with the New Brunswick Department of Transportation in St. Stephen. He looked after a fleet of 28 school buses, retiring with 25 years of service in January 2013.
Surviving in addition to his wife Helen of 53 years, are his 3 children daughter Crystal Raaflaub (Keith) of Chamcook, NB, 2 sons, Shawn (Nancy) of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, and Jason and his partner Miranda of Fort MacMurray, AB, 2 grandchildren Madison and Rachel, daughter in law Jodi, one sister Beulah Monteith of Medford, NB and one brother Junior St. Peter (Valerie) of Tilley, NB, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Harold was predeceased by his siblings Perley, Uta, Isabelle, Louise, Freda and Bella.
By Harold’s request cremation has taken place, family and friends are invited to attend a memorial funeral at 1:30 PM on Saturday June 29, 2024 at the St. Andrew’s Baptist Church (115 King Street St. Andrews NB).
