Obituary of Bill G. Haley
HALEY BILL - Unexpectedly at the Charlotte County Hospital on Monday, July 17th, 2023; William “Bill” Gray Haley, husband of Pearl (Kernighan) Haley of Dufferin, NB. Born in St. Stephen, NB; he is the son of the late George & Mary Louise (Grearson) Haley.
Bill was brought up in the family business known as Peck’s. which closed in 1974. He then went on to work with Atwood & Merrill Foundry & Texas Steel in purchasing. He also worked with the St. Stephen Fisheries & Oceans and then 19 years in purchasing with the Charlotte County Hospital, retiring in 2005.
Bill was an avid athlete growing up loving the game of baseball. He was an absolute fan of the Boston Red Sox and would attend many games. He was a former member of the St. Stephen Milltown Lions Club and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br 48 for over 40 years. Bill served in the US Armed Forces for a period of 2 years stationed in Fort Story, Virginia from 1964 – 1966.
He is survived by his wife Pearl of 56 years, daughter Donna Linton (Garnet) of Pomeroy Ridge, NB, son Travis (Christina) of Dufferin, NB, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, one brother Reid of St. Stephen, NB.
Bill was predeceased by a daughter Janet and a son Craig and his brother Roger and two sisters Mary Louise and Janet.
By Bill’s request cremation will take place followed by a private family service at St. Stephen Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, St. Stephen Food Bank or to the Charlotte County SPCA would be greatly appreciated by the family.
