I remember Jean in the staff room at the middle school. More tricks were played on her and she gave them right back. There was certainly a lot of Life in Her and she had a great sense of humor and a wonderful teacher! RIP Jean..

Love and light to Jeanie's family and friends, all who grieve her passing. May we remember and celebrate all that she was to so many. Jean leaves a strong legacy of life long learning and loving.Today I join those who will celebrate all of who she was and the void she leaves behind. We occasionally celebrated our birthdays together and Elaine and Pat's anniversary.Rest easy Jeanie.

Jean was a one-of-a-kind special lady! She had been the best neighbour (for my entire life!), friend, fellow gardener, mentor, and sometimes partner-in-crime. I could always count on her and she could count on me whenever an internet or sewing issue arose. You will be missed by all who were blessed to know you.

Elaine and Jeff and family , your mom was a very special lady after my mom died I thought of her as my second mom, she would call me Anna and then say 'there I did it again ', we had lots of wonderful times and laughs working in the church kitchen either making sandwiches or just cooking and getting ready for an event, she loved her WHITE tablecloths. also she liked the cherries and juice when making cherry and cheese sandwiches . , she would take all the crusts home for her crows.so as we celebrate her life today I will be thinking of what she and her sister and the Tower Hill girls are up to,She will be missed and now she is with the ones she loves , Hugs

I lived next door to Jean for the first 18 years of my life. She took me to Sunday School when I was young, to the blueberry fields in the summer when I was a little older, and also drove me to high school in the morning. She was such a kind person and mentor. I loved her laugh. She was a positive influence and it didn't matter what walk of live you came from. I have a picture of her and my mother, Bernice Reid in my office. I am saddened by her passing. Rest in Peace Jean.

Mrs.Christie…. Where to begin… I had a lot of firsts with this special lady. We met in the late 70s at SSMS. She always smiled when you met her, she laughed at our jokes . She listened to our problems, made suggestions ,gave advice to get us threw our days … in her classroom we were all strangers at first but before the year was up we were all family . A tight net group we became. I’ve talked to classmates about Mrs. Christie.. so many great stories. I remember she had a student that was having a medical attack . I’ve never seen anyone move so fast to help another in need of medical attention plus making sure her other students were okay… seeing this for the first time ,…… we All must’ve looked wide eyes an pale . …After this experience….. I continued my first aid ,lifeguards etc… I’ve helped a lot of people over the years, all because ,”I saw Mrs. Christie in action!” Lol She was a Superhero from that day on haha in our books!
We became pen pals years ago. Ohh how I loved hearing from her… eventually her letters were sporadic then they stopped…. But I kept on writing… as it’s becoming a lost Art (handwriting letters).
Mrs.Christie …… Thank you , air hugs

Words cannot express the sadness I and my family feel for the passing of your mom. She raised her children and stepdaughter with love and laughter. Always dependable and kind, she was definitely one in a million. I only hope in time the hurt and pain from losing your mom will ease and you will remember how much she loved you and was proud of all of you. I always considered her my 2nd mom growing up and always will remember her as such.

To Jeff, Elaine and the rest of the Christie family, my sincere condolences. One of the very last of that generation of teachers who made us what we are today. My Mom, Jean, Norine Corby, Lou Reese, Jen Senna, Lillian Anderson, Beulah Orchard, Flo Rouse to name but a few. For those of us whose Mother's were teachers, it often seemed as if we had several Mothers in school. It meant we couldn't get away with much but in the long run, it was for our benefit.
My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family. God Speed Jean.
