Obituary of Cathy Hastey
HASTEY CATHY - At the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, October 19th, 2022 Catherine Anne “Cathy” Hastey of St. Stephen, NB. Born in Hamilton, ON; she is the daughter of the late Maurice & Ruth (Weatherby) Hastey.
Cathy worked for Ganong for 38 years mostly in accounting after she received her CMA. Prior to her retirement, she worked for LKToombs.Cathy loved entertaining friends and family at her cottage on Birney Lake, the cousins "Group of 7", road trips, her cats, knitting, cross stitch, jigsaw puzzles, loved playing card games and working at charitable events like Curl For Cancer and Relay For Life.
She is survived by her sister Cindy Hastey of St. Stephen, NB, several cousins and one aunt and close friends who are family Sandra Brown, Glenna, Lois Weatherby, June and Debbie, Norma and Jocelyn, Mike and Maria, Brian, Mathew and Leslie, Sandy G, Mike and Brad.

By Cathy’s request cremation will take place. Friends are welcomed to attend a memorial service in celebration of her life on Thursday, October 27th, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB E3L 2B2 (506 – 466 – 3110).
The family will receive friends the day of the service during a time of visitation from 12:30 pm until service time. During both these times you are encouraged to wear a mask, due to anxieties people may still have about the pandemic.
