I always looked forward to Chris's presence at Kingsbraes Canada Day Afghanistan tributes. His steady example as Master of Ceremonys touched the hearts of many as the garden side commemorations of sacrifice eased the pain of many cross Canada familys who learned of St Andrews pledge to 'Never Forget'!

We were very shocked and saddened to hear of Mr. Fleming’s passing. He was a pillar to a great staff at SJDA and a tremendous steward for the town of St. Andrews. Very few have accomplished as much as he did. His professionalism, sense of humour and dedication as an educator will always be remembered.

Chris, Mike and I miss you! We had a lot of fun, learning and eating on our Photography treks. I took this shot of you on one of our first walkabouts on Ministers Island, winter of 2016. You shared a lot of your photography knowledge with me, taught me a lot and kept me on the straight and narrow. I will miss you, rest now but keep an eye on me won't you!

Chris was a great teacher. He helped me a lot in the beginning when I first became Mayor of Saint Andrews after following him in that role. He, as well helped me in delivering a speech one time half in French. He did such a great job helping me that people never realized I was never one of his best students in High School. He never said no to helping me or giving advice when I asked. He and I were 2 different type of Mayors. His strength was in knowing the rules and regulations and making sure we knew them.
There are lots of stories about what he did. One thing, Chris never looked for the limelight. He was happier behind the scenes when it came to politics and helping moving Saint Andrews ahead. Saint Andrews has lost an icon that nobody will be able to replace.

Sincere condolences to Chris’s family. Chris was always good to work with and in his retirement years he participated in our NBSRT (retired teachers) group with many helpful suggestions and great ideas. I particularly enjoyed going around Kingsbrae Gardens with Chris as our guide and his pictures from there are amazing.

I had the pleasure of working with Chris but he was also a friend and a supporter of many community causes including the annual CBC Harbour Lights fundraiser where I looked forward to seeing him each year. He was so kind, patient and generous with his time. I am so very sad to learn of his passing. He left an imprint in all who knew him.

Mr. Flemming, you will be missed!
I not only have such fun and fond memories of you as my teacher at SJDA decades ago but also from the 2010 reunion where you were so incredibly kind and in your full element as educator with my son (5 years old at the time) when we fortuitously found you at Kingsbrae.
Rest In Peace. Condolences to friends, family and the St. Andrews community for such a loss.

I was shocked to learn of the passing of one of my favorite teachers from my days at Sir James Dunn Academy, "Mr. Flemming". Like many through the years, he was so much more than just a teacher. He was a great influence on my love of classical music, stereo gear, music recording, my love for the organ and for the town of St. Andrews which will always be home. I may not have been the best French student Chis Flemming had in his long career by a long shot, I'.ve always thought of him anytime I've been in a restaurant and had to sit right at the window. He was known to comment as to why in the world "Guy et Micheline" would be sitting at just that table in the restaurant in our textbook. Mr. Flemming said he'd never sit there because being at the window overlooking the sidewalk would make him feel like a fish in a tank.
A kind man who would always be there for his students and taught many of my classmates to drive, mastered computers when TRS 80 was the state of the art, his photography captured his eye and his heart. He was around at lunchtime to listen to our "end of the world" teenage issues and still found time to become trained to be on Jeff Holmes' ambulance. He truly loved his town and the people in it. I was fortunate to know him as well as I did and will miss him. He was a good friend. Rest In Peace Chris.

A consummate gentleman whose values centred on the wellbeing of others. A most capable professional whether it be as an educator, municipal politician, or community volunteer. I remember his strong initiative to remember our fallen soldiers and officials in Afghanistan at Kingsbrae Garden which he lead with dignity and conviction. It was a pleasure to have known and worked with Chris. A loss for the town.
