Obituary of Donna Marie Hossack

HOSSACK DONNA  M.  – At the Charlotte County Hospital on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022; Donna Marie Hossack of St. Stephen, NB. Born in St. Stephen; she is the daughter of the late Carman & Annie (Douglas) Hossack.

      As a young girl Donna had a dream of being a flight attendant, so went on to aquire a job working with American Airlines for a short period . Ever since high school she always said she would go into nursing so  Donna gave her service to healthcare  for many years. She was a registered Nurse since 1972, working  with such institutions as Maine Medical. She played an instrumental part in the building and development of Viking Nursing Home in Cape Elizabeth, worked Devonshire and Portland,  ME. She worked medical personnel pool in interim nursing care and was the administrative director for the entire US east coast, responsible for staffing personal care to the mother of the former President George Bush.

     Locally Donna worked with Charlotte County Hospital and  was strong advocate for the work of Hospice of Charlotte for many years. She had a strong involvement with the redevelopment of the Loyalist Cemetery.

       Donna was passionate about classical music, enjoying the many compositions of Tchaikovsky. Donna thoroughly enjoyed working with crafts and silk flowers.

        Donna is survived by her son Darren Thomas of St. Stephen, NB. She was predeceased by 2 brothers Royce & Dennis.

      A visitation will be held on Wednesday,  October 19th,  from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB E3L 2B2 (506 – 466 – 3110) The interment will take place at a later date in St. Stephen Rural Cemetery.
