Obituary of Shirley Alice Stafford
STAFFORD SHIRLEY A. – At Lincourt Manor on Monday, September 12th, 2022; Shirley Alice (Bigger) Stafford; wife of the late Lee Allan Safford of Heathland, NB.
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. Psalms 116:15
Born in Alaska, PEI, on September 13, 1934; she is the daughter of the late Robert & Jean (Sharpe) Bigger. Shirley was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Old Ridge, NB for many years. She worked with special care homes such as Little Acres and Valley View Special Care as well as several other care homes. Shirley enjoyed reading her Bible and listening to Christian music and music videos. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Each of them had a special place in her heart. She loved her long walks.
Shirley is survived by her 2 daughters Patricia Holmes (Preston) of Napanee, Ontario, and Rhonda Daigle (Norman) of Heathland, New Brunswick; her 4 sons Terry of Saint John, New Brunswick, Paul of Saskatchewan, Troy (Diane) of St. Stephen, NB, Dale (Natalie) of Heathland, NB; and one surviving brother, Vaughn (Roma) of Maine, USA.
Shirley is also survived by 13 grandchildren; Preston Holmes Jr. (Diedre), Nathaniel Holmes (Wendy), Jeremy Holmes (Erin), Sarah Walton (Joel); Erica Laking (Corwyn), Veronica Richard (Matthew); Jonathon Daigle (Melissa), Joel Daigle (Kayla); Jesse Stafford, Jacob Stafford, Benjamin Stafford (Tori), Isaac Stafford; Joshua Stafford (Lacey); by 20 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and two sisters in laws.
In addition to her parents, Robert and Jean, she was predeceased by brothers James (Leona), Ersyl (Marie), Elwin (Marlene), Gerald, Merle (Avis), Keith (Freda), Gary (Viola), and sisters Kathleen (Frank) and Phyllis, twins Walter Arlo and Eunice and grandson Shane Levy.
The funeral service in celebration of Shirley’s life will be held on Saturday, September 17th, 2022 at 1:00pm at Old Ridge United Pentecostal Church. A time of visitation with the family and opportunity to express condolences will occur at the reception immediately following the service in the church hall. Interment will follow the reception, at Harvey Settlement Cemetery in Harvey, New Brunswick and is open to friends and family who wish to attend.
