I am so sorry to read of Nancy’s untimely passing. Though I did not see her often, I remember the vibrant person she was through my acquaintance with Pat when we taught together at NBCC. Please accept our sincere condolences at this very sad time for you all.

David, Pat and family,
Years ago, I had the privilege of meeting Nancy at Canada Post as she often teased me about arriving just moments before the truck arrived to pick up the mail. She met me everyday with a friendly hello and a warm smile. She would tease me about keeping all the card shops in business. As a summer resident, I did not know many people, so she was a ray of sunshine in my life. I tried to repay this positivity and kindness during her illness. Nancy was always so sweet and humble, never realizing her impact on people's lives. What a gift she was to all of us.
With deepest sympathy,
Catherine Sutherland

Nancy was a constant bright light in Saint Andrews. So many folks who were new to town were welcomed by her and her genuine interest in meeting them, including myself. The daily visit with Nancy at the post office became an important ritual for me after having my son while I knew very few people in town. Her smile was contagious. I know I am not the only person who always felt uplifted after a chat with her. It's sometimes the smallest interactions that make all the difference to people. I hope she knows how much she impacted the people around her and how much she will be missed. Rest in peace Nancy.

Nancy was the welcome committee for me when I first moved to St Andrews. She ALWAYS asked after my daughter who struggled with medical issues. She also made my visits to the post office very special for my aging doggie who loved Nancy dearly too. Our world has lost a bright light.

Our deepest sympathy to Pat and all of Nancy’s loved ones.
We always enjoyed any conversations we had with Nancy, her humour, her genuine interest in others, her kindness, and her love of animals. All of our dogs over the years loved her and looked forward to her cuddles and treats.
In her honour, we need to all maintain a positive outlook on life.

My sincere sympathy goes out to Nancy's family and friends, and to all those who enjoyed a casual chat in the post office or appreciated her admiration of their dog. I loved Nancy's sense of fun and her total lack of pretention. Our friendship began when her father and Pat were married, and Nancy has been part of many family celebrations, and hilarious road trips since. Throughout her illness, I've marveled at the devotion of Pat and Susan, and at the community's support of Nancy with so many acts of kindness. Nancy was the epitome of quiet courage, and maintained her concern for others, and her sense of humour, until the end. I will miss you, Nancy,

To Nancy’s loved ones. My heartfelt condolences. Nancy was one of the few souls that could bring joy to the mundane. I would walk into the post office thinking about bills to pay and walk out smiling because I had a brief conversation with Nancy. She was a special person who had a soft spot for our four legged friends. Nancy will be missed in St. Andrews.

A thought of comfort and condolences to the grieving family. It was an honour knowing Nancy as a co worker, she was appreciative, caring, understanding and very dedicated. During peak season of Christmas rush, Nancy always asked if I wanted a coffee for the road. She even bought cups with lids for myself and my fellow drivers. We miss you.
