We were so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. She was a wonderful person, so warm and friendly. We have great memories of your family visits to Alma as your parents always came to visit at the farm and in the latter years we enjoyed getting together when they came to the Picnic in the Park events which we have missed because of the pandemic. Plus she was a fount of information on the Sinclair genealogy and it was fun to be researching our shared roots. What an amazing legacy she left behind. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family at this time.

We are very sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. I have fond childhood memories of being welcomed at the family home with her beautiful smile, seeing her at the White House, camping in Alma and drives to Bocabec. I had no idea as a teenager the accomplishments she had and would continue to achieve, she was an amazing role model to her family as well as to me and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. I currently work for Social Development and colleagues remember and respect the positive impact she made to several Provincial programs. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and memories of her beautiful family. I am very fortunate to have known her so early in my life. Our deepest sympathies to you all during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Heather & Peter Hogge

We are deeply saddened to hear of Ann's passing. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. God be with you during this very difficult time. I (Pauline) connected with Ann thru Holy Rosary Church, namely while teaching Sunday school. Ann was co-coordinator of the program and approached this volunteer position with the same passion she approached all things. Ann had a sweet and welcoming smile for everyone she met and many people were better off for having met her. She will be missed by many. RIP Ann.

Ann was one of the finest people I ever had the privilege to know. As someone always interested in local history and a successful writer herself, I sought her help in editing my oral history of the Milltown Cotton Mill. A few years later I again asked her to join a committee to erect the Workers Monument in Milltown. In both projects her help was indispensable. She was so gracious and generous with her time, knowledge, experience and cooperative nature - I will always be indebted to her. Ann was a sincere, kind, caring, modest person. Her record as a community builder is unsurpassed and surely made her one of the areas most prominent citizens. She was one of those people who make the world a better place.
Kaye and I extend deepest sympathies to the family.

Sincere condolences to Ann’s family. What a lovely read of Ann’s life. What a fulfilling life she had. Her nursing story was similar to my Nan’s who decided to take the Nurse Assistant at age 48. I only met Ann and spoke a few times but she was so interesting to talk to, especially about support of women and children, as she spoke at a Women’s Day event I held at my workplace. . She was a sweet lady.

Following is a note I sent to former members of her civil servant staff in Fredericton on hearing of Ann's passing. In her many portfolios in government she was beloved by her staff. She listened carefully, but then was never shy of taking a decision.
I was her editor at the Courier when we rocked the boat at the Point Lepreau nuclear plant and then in government we reversed roles and I was her deputy. She was a great force and did just about everything, wrote books about the Irish in Charlotte County (she was an Irish girl from Alma) a great Catholic, deputy editor of the Courier and filled in many times as editor, she became a nurse later in life, and waited on table at the "White House" lunch counter in St. Stephen, and was originally a phys ed teacher, along with the love of her life, Mike, a long-time teacher in the local schools. She was the consummate, loyal Mum. Frank McKenna has described her as one of his favorite MLA's (one of the first 58). She took to politics like a prize fighter and had no qualms at all about doing whatever it took to help others. In later years we recalled some of her stories in journalism, such as when she explained that there must have been "some mistake" when office after office at NB Power laid out secret files for her perusal and even loaded the copier so she could make the copies. She had an irrepressible spirit for life. On behalf of her many loyal staff members in government in Fredericton, I send best wishes to her great family. We will miss her.>
