Sixty-five years is a long time to know someone, but memories will remain. Carol may not have realized how many lives she impacted, but certainly many. Sometimes an inspiration, sometimes a challenge. Always Carol Jane.

It was with profound sadness that we learned of Carol Jane's passing. While I only became acquainted with her after she returned to St. Stephen a few years ago, Herb remembers her during her youth. I came to know her gentle, kind soul through various gatherings in our parish. May your faith, family, friends and warm memories provide comfort as you travel on the grief journey. Blessings- Lynda D.

Carol Jane was a cherished friend since the age of seven. Hearing of her passing brings back the warm memories of growing up together. We have lost
most a unique and intelligent individual who will be missed.
My thoughts are with Carol Jane's family .

I send my condolences to Carol Jane’s family. I remember her so well from high school. I was a shy, awkward boy from Milltown in 1963, tongue tied around pretty girls and entering SSHS for the first time. I met Carol Jane almost immediately and she put me at ease with her gentle manner and friendly smile that persisted until we graduated four years later. She was so accomplished. She could tell you what American novel starts with “ Call me Ishmael”; she could quote Keats and Shelley from memory; she could list at least eight causes for the First World War. No one in the room other than Carol Jane would know the answer to the Monty Python question “What Is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?” Her memory will always bring a smile to my face; we will all miss Carol Jane but all of us were enriched for having known her. She will continue to ‘live in our hearts’. Philip Healy

I was very surprised and sorry to hear of Carol Jane's passing. She was a kind quiet soul and didnt seem to complain much about her health issues which I'm sure were very hard to bear. May you all feel the peace of God. Blessings Darlyne Hastey
