Obituary of Lewis H. Stoddard
STODDARD LEWIS H. – Peacefully, at the Passamaquoddy Lodge on Tuesday, July 6th, 2021; Lewis Herbert Stoddard, husband of the late Gertrude Freda (Merchant) Stoddard formerly of Old Ridge, NB. Born in Lansdowne Carleton, County, NB, he is the son of the late Roy Linwood & Florence Eva (MacDonald) Stoddard.
For over 30 years Lewis worked as a self employed truck driver, servicing communities throughout Atlantic Canada and the United States. Lewis married Gertrude in May of 1954.
Lewis is survived by his children Eva Gertrude Whittaker (John) of Kelowna, BC, Wanda Lou Higgins (Douglas) of Old Ridge, NB, Lynn Charlotte Alice Miles (Marx) of Fredericton, NB, Dwayne Elden Stoddard of Fredericton, NB and Kevin Roy Stoddard (Karen Kent) of St. Stephen, NB, 11grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, sister, Geraldine Disher of Chamcook, NB, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lewis was predeceased by his wife Gertrude, son Linwood, sisters Juanita Lloyd, Hattie, Ruby & Gladys Cook and Nadine White, and Royetta Hatt and brother Linwood.
The family will receive friends during a time of visitation at the funeral home on Thursday, July 8th, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Due to the current pandemic; prescreening Covid 19 protocols will be in place. Masks are required. For those feeling anxious, vulnerable or unwell you are encouraged not to attend.
The service in celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday July 9th, 2021 in the funeral home chapel. The interment will follow in St. Andrews Rural Cemetery. Seating will be limited to family only.
