Obituary of Winston L. Matthews
MATTHEWS, WINSTON L. … Unexpectedly at the Eastern Maine Medical Centre in Bangor Maine, U.S.A. on Sunday, July 5th, 2015; Winston LeRoy Matthews, husband of Nellie Matthews of Campobello, NB. Born in St. Stephen, NB, he is the son of the late Audber & Vera (Newman) Matthews. Since Winston was a young man he lived his life on the sea. He had a passion for fishing. His greatest of these was the endearing love of his family. Surviving in addition to his wife Nellie are his two sons LeRoy of Campobello, NB and Barry and his wife Susan of Hampden, ME, USA, three grandchildren Benjamin (Kimberly), Samantha, and Sarah, one great granddaughter Marley, two sisters Deborah Anthony and Ruth Kelsey (Bruce) all of Campobello, NB, his only surviving uncle Buster Matthews, cousins, nieces and nephews. By Winstons’ request there will be no visitation, however friends are welcomed to attend a graveside tribute to his life on Thursday, July 9th, 2015 at 12:30 pm at Wilsons Beach Community Cemetery, Head Harbour Road. Rev. Robert Weaver officiating. Friends are cordially invited back to Nellies’ home for a reception following the burial. In lieu of flowers donations to Cancer Care of Maine EMHS P.O.
