Obituary of Ulysse J. Poirier
POIRIER ULYSSE J. … At the Charlotte County Hospital on Friday, March 13th, 2015; Ulysse Joseph Poirier, husband of Margaret (Russell) Poirier of St. Stephen, NB. Born in Rogersville, NB he is the son of the late Pierre & Esther (Caissie) Perry. Ulysse worked for almost 13 years with the Canadian Armed Forces starting his career in Shilo, Manitoba, then moving to CFB Gagetown where he worked with the Pay Corps. He and Margaret have resided here in the St Stephen area for about the past 6 years and have been members of Union Street Baptist Church. Ulysse was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion St. Croix Branch # 9. Surviving in addition to his wife Margaret are his three children, 1 daughter Coleen Poirier of Bangor Maine, 2 sons Gardiner Poirier of Atkins, SC, and Peter Poirier (Lola) of Caribou, Maine, 3 grandchildren, Ulysse, Caitlyn and Dustin, several brothers and sisters, Amos of Burlington, ON, Albert (Ruth) of Caledonia, ON, Frank (Arlene) of McAdam, NB, Paul (Kathleen) of Oromocto Lake, Harvey, NB, Marianne Bonnett & Alma Marcotte, both of Hamilton, ON, and Annie Arseneau of Dieppe, NB, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ulysse was predeceased by brothers Nazaire Russell, and sisters Regina Cassie and Doris House. By Ulysse’s request cremation will take place and there will be no visitation or service. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Ulysse to be given to the Building Fund of Union Street Baptist Church 28 Main Street St Stephen, NB E3L 1Z1 would be appreciated by the family.
