Obituary of Gerald E. Caissie
CAISSIE GERALD - At the Fundy Nursing Home on Monday, December 8th, 2014; Gerald Emile Caissie; husband of the late Florence Caissie, of St Stephen, NB. Born in Young Ridge,NB he is the son of the late Alphonse & Leona (Gould) Caissie. Gerald was a member of Holy Rosary Church. He worked for 18 years as a custodian for St. Stephen Elementary School. Gerald had a passion for music since he was a boy. He loved blue grass and the old style country. If there was a party to be started somewhere; Gerald was your guy. He would always be sure to have his spoons, fiddle & his guitar in tow and ready for the occasion. Gerald is survived by his daughter Melanie Caissie, Stepdaughter Lori Greenier and stepson James Greenier of St. Stephen, 5 grandchildren Kirkland Gullison, Emile Caissie, Jennifer (Matthew) Harvey, Ryan Greenier, and Nicholas Greenier, 7 great grandchildren , his sister Florine Russell of Black’s Harbour, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Alphonsine Poirier and a brother Edmund. Friends are welcomed to attend a celebration of his life, in the form of a Kitchen Party, Friday evening starting at 7:00 pm. at the Oak Bay Hall. All those wishing to attend are encouraged to bring along their instruments. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 13th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m at Holy Rosary Church, St. Stephen, NB. Rev. Fr. Paul Doucet as celebrant. The interment will follow in Stella Maris Church Cemetery,in Blacks Harbour following the mass in St Stephen. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the instrument implementation or music programs of either the St. Stephen Elementary or Middle School.
