Obituary of Ray Peterson

PETERSON, M. RAYMONDE passed unexpectedly at her residence on Thursday, January 30th, 2014. Margaret Raymonde “Ray” (Hetherington) Peterson, was the wife of 47 years to Richard Harry Peterson of St. Andrews, NB. Born in Gatehouse of Fleet, Scotland she was the daughter of Melville & Margaret Hetherington of Quebec. Ray grew up in Quyon, Quebec and attended Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario where she received her Master's Degree in Biology. Later in life she attended the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton where she went on to achieve her Law Degree. She lived in St. Andrews for most of her life and was actively involved in the community. She was a director of the Fundy Community Foundation, a director of Sunbury Shores Arts and Nature Centre and served a term as mayor. In addition to serving the town her favorite past times were knitting, weaving and quilting. She put these talents to use by forming the company Romney Wool Works and making numerous tapestries and quilts for her children and grandchildren. Survived by her husband Richard and her children David of St. Andrews, NB; Heather Dalling(Greg) of Baxters Corner; John (Christiane) of Fredericton, NB; her sisters Jo Webb and Shelagh Paulson, both of Ontario, her grandchildren Ty Dalling, Lena Peterson and Brooke Dalling, as well as several nieces and nephews. By request of the family there will be no visitation. Cremation will take place with a memorial service to be held at the Anglican Parish Hall, 75 King Street St Andrews, NB on Saturday, May 17th, 2014 at 2:00 pm.
