Obituary of Roland W. Newman
NEWMAN ROLAND W. – At the Charlotte County Hospital on Wednesday, February 20th, 2013; Roland Whitmore Newman, husband of Vera Jane (Barker) Newman of St Stephen, NB, formerly of Brockway, NB and Campobello, NB. Born in Campobello, he is the son of the late Dalton & Ethel(Phinney) Newman. Roland was a fisherman most of his life off of Campobello, but also worked for many years as a maintenance supervisor for Rosevelt Campobello International Park. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge F& A.M. and the Luxor Shriners. Surviving in addition to his wife Vera are his daughter Susan Guptill, son Roland Dale Newman, daughter – in – law Debra (Hood) Newman, grandchildren Lisa Fitzgerald, Michelle Morgan, Robbie Newman, Mallory Newman, Michael Newman, great grandchildren, Emma Fitzgerald, Brayden Newman, , sister Christine Mitton, several nieces and nephews. Roland was predeceased by a sister Winifred Therien. By Rolands’ request there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A memorial tribute will take place at a later date, with time and date to be announced. In lieu of flowers donations to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children would be appreciated by the family.
