Obituary of Doreen M.H. Scott
SCOTT, DOREEN M.H. – Peacefully at her residence at the Passamaquoddy Lodge on Wednesday, November, 21st, 2012; Doreen Margaret Helen (Tait) Scott, beloved wife of the late Dr. James Stuart (Hamish) Scott of St. Andrews, NB. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland on March 20th, 1929 she was the daughter of the late William W. & Doris (Wright) Tait. Doreen’s life was one of adventure. Firstly, travelling from St Andrews, Scotland to Malaysia, as a young women, where she was married and lived for eight years. Later she resided in Nigeria and St. Andrews, Scotland before finally settling in her beloved home in St. Andrews, NB. An avid gardener, lover of music and her family, she will be greatly missed. Doreen was a longtime member of Greenock Presbyterian Church in St. Andrews, participating regularly in their church sales and other events. She was a “Brown Owl” of the St. Andrews Brownies, and over the years a volunteer with many other charitable events. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Elaine Peters (Lawrence) of Fredericton and Alison Scott (Kevin) of Port Elgin, 1 son Alasdair Scott (Kelly) of Toronto, 3 brothers James (Christine), Ronald (Patricia) and William all of Scotland, 6 grandchildren, Meghan Leroux (John), Christopher Peters (Jennifer), Daimen Hardie (Estelle), Gavin Hardie (Ashley), Linden Hardie, and Calum Hardie, 2 great grandchildren, Tait & Ana Leroux. By Doreen’s request there will be no visitation. A memorial service in celebration of Doreen’s life will be held at Greenock Presbyterian Church in St. Andrews, NB at 11;00 am on Thursday, December 27th, 2012. In lieu of flowers donations to Greenock Presbyterian Church, Passamaquoddy Lodge or Sunbury Shores Arts & Nature Centre. The family wish to thank the staff of St. Stephen Home Support Services, Extramural and the Passamaquoddy Lodge for the excellent care Doreen received in her last years of life.
